Keystone Wildlife Research has been conducting environmental projects for power producers since its creation in 1984, and over this time has gained extensive experience in the assessment, monitoring and mitigation of impacts on wildlife and terrestrial ecosystems due to hydroelectric and transmission-line developments. Examples of past projects include:

  • Preparing, for Cloudworks Energy Inc., the draft wildlife habitat mapping for a number of small hydroelectric projects in the Upper Harrison Lake area.

  • Preparing wildlife habitat mapping and impact assessments for a number of Independent Power Projects proposed by Plutonic Power Inc.

  • Developing a strategic plan for wildlife compensation for the BC Hydro Mica Dam project in the upper Columbia River Basin. This large-scale project included habitat mapping, species and habitat analysis, and identification of compensation projects.

With our past experience completing numerous projects of varying scope throughout B.C., we have gained valuable experience that can be applied towards future power development projects. Combining this experience with top-rate technical skills and the ability to tailor our projects towards our clients needs, Keystone can meet all of the terrestrial ecosystem consulting needs of power producers. To find out more, check out some of the services that we regularly offer to power producers:
