Keystone Wildlife Research has its roots in biological research in British Columbia. Many of our staff have experience conducting field-based or literature-based research on a number of species, both plant and animal. As a company we have implemented a number of long-term field-based wildlife studies related to major highway and hydroelectric projects on Vancouver Island and in the Kootenay, Peace River and Okanagan Forest Regions. We have also conducted small and large-scale literature reviews on various species for education and management purposes.
Species with which we have experience include: grizzly bear, moose, elk, deer, caribou, wolves, marten and spotted owl. The results of our work have been used to develop management strategies and guidelines, which protect key habitats and mitigate adverse effects of human activities on wildlife.
